Acknowledging the challenges posed by legal obstacles in the appointment of teachers, the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has resolved to remove all such barriers. During the Cabinet meeting, it was unanimously decided that teacher appointments will proceed unhindered, now that the legal hurdles have been effectively addressed. The Punjab government has taken a significant step by regularizing the services of 8700 contracted teachers in the education department. These teachers will now receive salaries, which have been determined by the Finance Department and forwarded to the Education Department.

Notably, the salary of education providers has been raised from 9500 to 20,500 rupees per month, marking a substantial increase. E.T.T. and N.T.T. teachers will also benefit from this decision, with their monthly salary being raised to Rs 22,000 from the previous amount of Rs 10,250. Furthermore, I.E. volunteers will now receive a salary of 15,000 rupees, a significant improvement from the previous amount of 5500 rupees.

Furthering its commitment to streamlining the education sector, the Punjab government has launched the Transfr Portal, a user-friendly platform aimed at facilitating the appointment process for 3,704 DPEs (District Primary Education) selected under 893 DPEs, along with other candidates. The portal provides a convenient means for DPEs to specify their preferred stations by filling in their choices. This endeavor ensures efficient deployment and allocation of teachers, optimizing the distribution of educational resources in Punjab.
