Holiday declared in Mumbai on 6th December 2023 for Mahaparinirvana Day

Local Holiday has been declared for one day on 6th December 2023 in the view of Mahaparinirvana Day which is important as it commemorates the 67th Death Anniversary of the Dr. B R Ambedkar aka “FATHER OF INDIAN CONSTITUTION”.

The holiday will be applicable for all governmental and semi-governmental public offices in Mumbai and Mumbai Suburban District jurisdiction, though the banks would continue to run as usual routine.

Thousands of people from across India will gather at Chaityabhoomi in Dadar to honor Dr. Ambedkar on Wednesday. Dr. Ambedkar was born in Mhow town, now known as Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, in Madhya Pradesh on April 14, 1891. He was India’s first Law & Justice Minister and passed away on December 6, 1956. Dr. Ambedkar’s body was cremated at Chaityabhoomi, where many people come to pay their respects each year.

People living here are advised to check roads or trafffic as huge gathering could cause a problem ,if not taken care of your route or the path you take.
